Half-year PEACOC project results

With a two-day online meeting, the PEACOC consortium has marked its six-month progress. The H2020-funded PEACOC research and innovation project is progressing towards optimizing the concentration and refining technologies for recovery of Precious Metals from end-of-life products, such as spent autocatalysts, photovoltaic panels and  low- and mid-grade printed circuit board assemblies.

Accelerating progress towards PEACOC solutions

On 1 November 2021, the PEACOC consortium has marked half-year of its research. To summarize the project updates, the consortium met virtually during a two-day consortium meetings. During the first day on 9 November, the project coordinator Tecnalia  gave a welcoming address to all partners. The discussion continued with a follow-up on the management and financial aspects of the project towards the technical progress.

About the project

H2020 PEACOC research and innovation initiative involves different large and small-and-medium enterprises, research and technology organizations and universities towards designing low-cost and eco-friendly technologies for efficient recovery of gold, silver and Platinum Group Metals from complex waste. The project technologies are to provide a sustainable solutions and tackle the current and future challenges related to the Europe’s dependency on import of critical raw materials  from third countries. Find out more about the project here.

About the consortium

The project is run by a consortium of 19 partners from 8 European countries and Turkey. It represents [remove extra space] leading business, technological and research organizations, and institutions across Europe. The project coordinator TECNALIA Research & Innovation (Spain) will oversee the project’s implementation plan of 11 work packages for a duration of 4 years. The project started on 1 May 2021 and will run until 30 April 2025. The involved partners cover the whole value chain to produce Precious Metals from end-of-life products.  Find out more about the partners competence and their role in the research initiative here.
